Transforming Venice and Ourselves.
Social Action feels great; but is it the first course of action? What is the intention behind my desire to heal or help? Are my efforts strategic and impactful?
Open Temple’s Social Justice Circle leads with curiosity asking “What is the intention and impact of this initiative?” This year, we explore the issue of homelessness in Venice: its root causes, the road to permanent housing, and how Open Temple could make a meaningful impact. Guided by Open Temple Co-Creators Brad Charna, Charlie Robinson, Denise Berger, and Nancy Perlman, we work in partnership with Safe Place for Youth, Venice Community Housing, St. Josephs Center, PATH and our local officials. We are non-partisan and lead with curiosity and love.
And because the need is great (and yes, impact feels great!), Open Temple partners with Grass Roots Neighbors, providing food and resources to the local working homeless in our community.
