Light One Candle: Infinite Lights 2022

Light One Candle: A Chanukah Kayak Candle-Lighting on the Venice Canals
Sunday, December 18 at 2:30 pm (kayaks launch at 3:00 pm)

In collaboration with NuRoots, a celebration of darkness and light, with music, kayaks and community for those in their 20s and 30s.
Chanukah is a night of Dedication – to ourselves, to the expansive nature of being – to cultivating the light within. We invite you to begin The First Night balancing fire with water, light with darkness. Our boat launch on the Venice Canals invites you to consider the power of Jewish community and returns to the urban nature in our midst. Mussar exercises at eight stops through the kayaking tour deepen the experience of the eight nights ahead with meaning and enchantment and fill you with a sense of wonder for all things Jew-ish.

“Sing unto God a new song.”
-Psalm 96

If God is already tired, as suggests the Psalm, of hearing the old song, all the more so will ordinary mortals be.
