High Holidays: Tashlich

Monday, September 10th, 2018
5:00 pm.

Kites. Picnic. Beach.
Tashlich.

From finding meaning in Wonderbread (makes an amazing softball for sins!) to personal mussar mentor, Open Temple’s Tashlich on the beach is a contemplative and communal departure from the drum circles further north. Rabbi Lori Shapiro leads the ritual with sand sculptures of sin, regret and “everything that is evanescent” as we focus on the temporal nature of the ritual moment. Chaplain Deborah Schmidt offers a mussar circle of contemplative journaling and spiritual calisthenic, and Venice artist Robin Murez debuts “Open Temple Art Bus” for creative exploration and connection. With kites (weather permitting), a pot luck meal and come as you are atmosphere, Open Temple’s Tasclich Ritual invites community reflection about from where we have come and to where are we going. Bring a dish to share with new friends.

FREE – please reserve your tickets at Eventbrite.
